It was a few months ago we met another editor here at Gearhead Daily for lunch. He promised us a sight to behold as a local Porsche dealership known as Carousel Porsche was going to be holding a ‘grand re-opening’, which basically means they built a brand new building right next to their old existing building.
They brought in a trove of customer cars to display along with Magnus Walker’s 911 race car, which ironically was just after he smashed his other car in a display of stupidity. But hey, he’s the pro-racer, not me. So who the hell am I?
They had a replica of the Le Mans winning 919 car. It was painfully obvious that it was a display model, but I didn’t care, it was still pretty cool to see it up close.
I’ve had the chance to talk with some of the folks who work there and even had a test drive or two (remember that 911 I test drove before I bought the SLC?). They are pretty laid back and an amiable sort of lot so if you get a chance, check them out on their site or in person at Carousel Porsche of MPLS.
Apparently, later that night there was to be a party. I guess my invite got lost in the mail or cyberspace or the carrier pigeon got lost in flight …. either way, I wasn’t invited. Which is truly too bad because I love fancy cars and sipping champagne and waxing on poetically about the nature of things. But I digress, you’re here for the photos. I aim to please and I please to aim!
Check ya later tater.
