Hyundai Arrives at Road Atlanta 140 Points Clear, Chasing a Seventh-Straight TCR Manufacturers' Title

Seven in a row. Hyundai wrapped the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Friday with its seventh consecutive TCR Manufacturers’ Championship, completing a clean sweep of the Manufacturers’, Drivers’, and Teams’ titles that Bryan Herta Autosport has built around four Elantra N TCRs.

The championship closed the way the season ran: the No. 33 Elantra N TCR of Mason Filippi and Bryson Morris won the FOX Factory 120 outright, led 40 laps, and crossed the line third overall behind the higher-horsepower Grand Sport class GT4 cars. That third-place overall result is a series record, surpassing the previous best overall finish by a TCR car, which had been 15th. Filippi and Morris finished the season with 3,080 points each, enough to take the Drivers’ Championship over teammates Preston Brown and Denis Dupont, who ended second in the standings at 2,810 points.

Hyundai’s final Manufacturers’ tally was 3,350 points to Honda’s 3,140, with Cupra at 3,070 and Audi at 2,940. The margin over Honda was tight enough that Hyundai entered Road Atlanta only 140 points clear, meaning Friday’s class win carried title-sealing weight beyond the usual season-finale arithmetic.

The race itself unfolded cleanly for BHA. The No. 33 started third and moved to second at the opening, stayed within striking distance through the early laps, then used a yellow-flag restart and strategy to take the lead and hold it. The No. 76 of Brown and Dupont charged from ninth to fourth overall. The No. 98 of Maddie Aust and Mark Wilkins finished seventh. The No. 18 of Harry Gottsacker and Lance Bergstein ran inside the top three before a late penalty dropped them to ninth.

The season-long consistency behind this title is worth stating plainly. Hyundai recorded a podium finish at every IMPC race in 2026 and collected four wins. Through mid-season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the No. 33 led the Drivers’ standings at 1,500 points with the Manufacturers’ lead sitting at just 20 points over Honda. The gap widened steadily through VIR and Indianapolis, but Honda stayed close enough that BHA couldn’t coast.

Hyundai’s run in TCR began with the first manufacturers’ title in 2020. The program has not let another manufacturer into the championship column since. Heading into VIR with four entries and the top two spots in the Drivers’ standings, the depth of the BHA operation was already evident, and it held through the finale. All five Hyundai entries in the final championship standings finished with more points than Cupra’s best pairing.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels donated $14,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on race weekend, bringing the season total to $85,000 distributed to local children’s hospitals across the championship’s race weekends. The program also included a $300,000 donation to Riley Hospital for Children at Indianapolis, separate from the per-race initiative.

Seven manufacturer titles across seven seasons of TCR competition in IMSA is the kind of record that forces competitors to ask structural questions about their programs, not just their setups. Honda finished 210 points back. The gap between first and fourth manufacturer was 410 points. Hyundai won more than it had to, and its closest rival never got close enough to make it matter.
