Introducing Two Innovative Scrambler® Concepts
Scrambler® Ducati is making a statement at the 2024 London Bike Shed MotoShow with the introduction of two bold and innovative concepts. Created by the Centro Stile Ducati, these concepts highlight the importance of customization in the post-heritage Ducati world, showcasing creativity and free expression on the second-generation Scrambler® platform.
CR24I: A Modern Café Racer
The CR24I concept embodies the purest Café Racer style, evolving from the 2017 Scrambler. Inspired by the legendary British bikes of the 60s, this design pays homage to the era when riders raced around local venues to the tune of a jukebox record. Entirely developed within the Centro Stile Ducati, the CR24I showcases the versatility of the Scrambler® base with features such as a 17″ front rim with road tires and sporty clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors.
The narrow, wrap-around tank-mounted fairing draws inspiration from iconic Ducati models like the Pantah and the 750 SS, reinterpreted with a contemporary, post-heritage flair. The single-seater saddle, equipped with a detachable passenger cover, nods to the classic ‘panettone’ saddles of 70s sports bikes. The striking color scheme captures the spirit of the 1960s British rockers.
RR24I: Post-Apocalyptic Minimalism
The RR24I concept channels the aesthetics of post-apocalyptic cinema and TV series. This minimalist and functional design contrasts sharply with the CR24I’s clean lines, emphasizing the fundamental elements of a motorcycle: two wheels, a tank, an engine, and handlebars. The RR24I strips away the superfluous to focus on the raw, authentic riding experience that defines the Scrambler® ethos.
Highlighting aluminum parts and exposed technical details, the RR24I exudes authenticity. The stripped-down tank is replaced by a frame for attaching a tank bag, ideal for essentials like clothing or tools. The removable passenger seat section converts into a luggage rack, reinforcing the concept’s adventurous spirit. The rear features a case reminiscent of repurposed jerry cans, and the high-passage Termignoni exhaust enhances the tracker look. Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires on 18″ front and 17″ rear rims, combined with a high, short front mudguard, promise all-terrain capability.
Showcasing at the London Bike Shed MotoShow
Both concepts will be on display to the public throughout the London Bike Shed MotoShow, from May 24 to 26. Established in 2013, the Bike Shed MotoShow has grown into a major event on the international scene, celebrating custom motorcycle culture. The 2023 edition attracted over 17,000 visitors and showcased more than 300 unique motorcycles from around the world.
The Accessible and Fun Scrambler®
Ducati’s Scrambler® models are the perfect choice for riders who want to express their personality through a uniquely designed motorcycle. Dynamic, fun, and accessible, the Scrambler® range is safe for everyday use and embodies the spirit of freedom and individuality. In Italy, the “Ducati Ride Time” financial formula allows customers to purchase a Scrambler® Icon, Nightshift, or Full Throttle with a down payment of about 50% and decide after two years whether to keep the bike or switch to a new Ducati. The updated Scrambler® features a modernized Desmodue engine with a smoother, more compact clutch, offering more foot space for the rider. With a total weight reduction of 4 kg, the new Scrambler® is more manageable and easier to ride. The introduction of Ride by Wire throttle management ensures prompt and progressive engine response, while Ducati Traction Control and two Riding Modes enhance the bike’s versatility. Standard equipment includes ABS cornering for added safety.
