Ford Performance is dedicated to pushing the limits of what is possible in drag racing and electrification. “At Ford Performance, success is not just about setting a goal and achieving it; it’s about continuous evolution and striving to raise the bar even higher,” stated Brian Novak, Ford Performance Supervisor for Drag Racing and Off-Road Racing. His enthusiasm for the team’s accomplishments reflects the significant effort put into developing the Super Cobra Jet 1800.

The Super Cobra Jet 1800 was driven by Pat McCue, the owner of MLe Racecars, who also piloted the previous record-setting vehicle in Pomona. McCue’s experience behind the wheel was pivotal in achieving this latest feat. “Driving this car at over 180 mph is definitely wild,” McCue remarked. He praised the collaboration between his team at MLe Racecars and the engineering experts at Ford Performance, highlighting the extensive development work that has gone into both the Cobra Jet 1400 and the Super Cobra Jet 1800. “It’s been a wild ride of its own!” he added.
