Kia has unveiled the refreshed 2025 EV6 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, building on the award-winning formula that made it a standout in the EV market. With updated styling, enhanced performance, and new tech features, the EV6 continues to push boundaries in the electric crossover segment.
A Design Evolution
The 2025 EV6 sports a refined look that aligns with Kia’s latest design language while maintaining its signature boldness. Highlights include:
- Star Map Lighting: Redesigned headlights and taillights with wing-like graphics for a high-tech, dynamic appearance.
- Sharper Lines: New front and rear bumpers with angular details and enhanced side sill moldings for a sportier stance.
- Wheel Options: Redesigned 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels for a fresh take on its striking profile.
Inside, the EV6 adopts a more premium aesthetic inspired by the flagship EV9. A curved dual 12.3-inch display integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment system, while updated materials and finishes elevate the cabin’s tech-focused ambiance.
More Power and Range
Kia has introduced a new 84.0 kWh battery option, offering a targeted 319 miles of range in Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line RWD trims. Powertrain options include:
- 63.0 kWh Battery: 167 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque (RWD).
- 84.0 kWh Battery: 225 hp (RWD) or 320 hp and 446 lb.-ft. of torque (AWD).
- EV6 GT: Upgraded to 641 hp and 568 lb.-ft. of torque with GT Mode, delivering a blistering performance boost from the previous model’s 576 hp.
The EV6 GT also debuts a Virtual Gear Shift, simulating gear changes through sound effects, visuals, and tactile feedback for an immersive driving experience.
Lightning-Fast Charging
The EV6 retains its industry-leading 800-volt DC fast charging, enabling rapid top-ups. The charging port has been relocated to the left rear fender (excluding GT models) for easier access and now supports the North American Charging Standard.
Refined Ride and Handling
Updates to the steering system improve response and precision, while added sound-absorbing materials keep the cabin quieter than ever. Structural enhancements ensure compliance with stricter IIHS safety standards, and towing capacity for long-range models has increased to 2,700 lbs., with automatic trailer detection.
Tech Upgrades Galore
Kia’s next-gen Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) powers the infotainment system, offering faster processing and seamless over-the-air updates for navigation, ADAS, and powertrain features. Through the new Kia Connect Store, drivers can personalize their experience with features like video streaming, gaming, and even NBA team-themed displays.
Other tech highlights include:
- Digital Key 2.0: Unlock, start, and share your EV6 using compatible smartphones or NFC-enabled smart cards.
- Advanced Parking Assistance: Features like Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist make parking stress-free.
Enhanced Safety Features
The EV6 comes equipped with Kia’s robust ADAS suite, with new features like:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2: Now includes Junction Turning and Crossing, Lane Change, and Evasive Steering Assist.
- Highway Driving Assist 2: Helps maintain lane position, distance from vehicles ahead, and even assists with lane changes on highways.
