Kia prices the redesigned 2027 Seltos from $24,990 for the base LX FWD to $32,790 for the range-topping X-Line SX, positioning the second-generation compact SUV $345 below the Toyota Corolla Cross and $615 below the Hyundai Kona. A hybrid variant will follow later this year at undisclosed pricing.
The base figure represents a $1,200 increase over the outgoing model, a premium Kia attributes to the fact that the second-generation Seltos is physically larger. The new model rides on a longer wheelbase and a wider stance, delivering what Kia calls best-in-class passenger space and 64.2 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the first row with the rear seats folded. Cargo behind the second row measures 27.8 cubic feet.
Starting MSRPs for the eight-trim lineup run $24,990 for the LX FWD, $26,390 for the S FWD, $26,690 for the LX AWD, $28,090 for the S AWD, $28,390 for the EX FWD, $28,990 for the X-Line S, $30,090 for the EX AWD, and $32,790 for the X-Line SX. Destination adds $1,495 across the board.

Powertrain choices split between a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The turbo option pairs with torque-vectoring multi-mode AWD on 1.6T-equipped models. X-Line trims, offered in both 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter turbo configurations, add rugged styling cues including unique fascias, piano-black fender flares, blacked-out trim, exclusive wheel designs, and 8.1 inches of ground clearance.
Inside, the cabin borrows design cues from the Telluride with upgraded soft-touch materials and a triple-screen layout: a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a 5-inch climate control panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. New available features include Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The competitive context is straightforward. The Seltos arrived in the U.S. as a 2021 model and has sold steadily in a segment that includes the Mazda CX-30, Volkswagen Taos, Chevrolet Trax, Kia Niro, Buick Envista, Nissan Kicks, Honda HR-V, and Subaru Crosstrek. Sales climbed from close to 21,000 units to almost 26,000 during the first generation, tracking increased demand for affordable compact crossovers.
The $24,990 entry point lands the Seltos below its most direct Korean rival and well below the Toyota, a positioning that matters in a segment where buyers are shopping monthly payment as much as spec sheet. Whether that pricing advantage holds when the hybrid arrives later this year depends on numbers Kia has not yet disclosed.
The second-generation Seltos reaches dealers this summer.
