Kia is pricing the 2027 Sorento Hybrid from $39,090, adding a new X-Line EX trim and expanding the lineup’s blackout aesthetic to a broader audience. The four-trim HEV roster is now available with pricing that spans from the base EX front-drive to a fully loaded X-Line SX-Prestige all-wheel drive, all before the $1,495 destination charge.
The headline addition is the X-Line EX AWD at $43,090, which slots between the standard EX AWD at $40,890 and the X-Line SX-Prestige AWD at $47,590. It carries gloss-black wheels and exterior accents alongside all the content found on the EX, plus machined wood inlays on the instrument panel and doors — a combination that was previously available only on the more expensive X-Line SX-Prestige. For 2026, the Sorento HEV lineup offered just EX and X-Line SX-Prestige; the new middle tier gives buyers a blackout look without the full jump to the top trim.
The SX-Prestige gains a standard Head-Up Display for 2027, a feature that joins the panoramic sunroof, Bose Premium Audio, and second-row captain’s chairs already bundled at the top of the lineup. Stepping up to the X-Line SX-Prestige adds the same HUD along with the X-Line’s gloss-black exterior treatment.

Every X-Line trim, including the new EX entry point, includes the machined wood inlays — an interior touch that pairs with the exterior blackout package in a way that doesn’t quite follow conventional logic, but Kia has made the combination work on prior X-Line Sorento generations.
The 227-hp, 258 lb-ft hybrid powertrain carries over unchanged. That system has been a consistent driver of the Sorento HEV’s sales momentum: hybrid variants were up 22 percent year-over-year in August 2026 and surged 114 percent in June 2026, both data points reflecting broader strength across Kia’s hybrid lineup, which grew 187 percent in June 2026. At the entry price of $39,090 before destination, the 2027 HEV comes in below where the 2027 Sorento ICE starts at $32,590, with the hybrid premium spread across a four-trim lineup that now reaches $47,590 for the X-Line SX-Prestige AWD.

Exterior changes are modest. Pale Gray replaces Steel Gray in the color palette, and HEV badges now appear on the tailgate — the kind of distinction that matters to buyers who want the hybrid identity visible from the outside. The Sorento HEV is not assembled domestically; Kia notes that the gas-only and fully electric variants of the Sorento built in the US explicitly exclude HEV and PHEV models.
Kia has not announced on-sale timing beyond the 2027 model year designation. Given the October announcement date and prior-year patterns, dealer availability is likely before the end of 2026, but Kia has not committed to a specific window.
Four trims, one powertrain, and a new entry point into the X-Line look: the 2027 Sorento HEV is more about giving the existing formula more room to breathe than rewriting it. With hybrid demand still climbing, Kia doesn’t need to rewrite it.
