Kia is holding the line on the 2027 Sorento. Today’s pricing announcement covers the ICE lineup with a $200 base-trim increase and exactly one color swap, making this one of the quieter model-year transitions the midsize SUV segment will see this fall.
The Sorento LX opens at $32,590, up from approximately $32,390 for the 2026 model. From there, the ladder climbs through nine trims: the S in front-wheel drive at $35,490 and AWD at $37,490; the EX FWD at $38,690 and EX AWD at $40,190; the SX at $42,490; the X-Line EX at $42,990; the X-Line SX at $44,290; the X-Line SX-Prestige at $46,990; and the X-Pro SX-Prestige at $47,990. All figures exclude the $1,495 destination charge.
The only substantive change Kia is flagging for 2027 is color: Jade Black Green, already available on the 2027 Telluride, joins the Sorento palette while Jungle Green exits. The move follows a pattern Kia has used across the 2027 lineup, pushing popular Telluride hues down to its smaller three-row siblings. Powertrain options, standard equipment, and trim structure carry over from the prior model year unchanged.
That continuity isn’t necessarily a problem. The Sorento moved 95,154 units in 2024, a figure that suggests the current recipe has earned its keep against the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Palisade without needing a mechanical overhaul every model year. Kia’s approach here mirrors what it did with the 2027 K5, where a minimal price adjustment and a feature tweak carried the car into the new model year without disrupting a lineup that was already selling.
The Sorento also retains its assembled-in-America status for the ICE models, a selling point Kia has leaned into across its U.S. lineup. The 2027 K4 and K4 Hatchback, priced from $22,390, and the Telluride share that domestic-assembly footnote, giving Kia a credible manufacturing story at multiple price points.
A $200 base-price increase on a near-$33,000 SUV that sold in the mid-90,000s last year is about as conservative a model-year move as a manufacturer can make. The 2027 Sorento doesn’t need to justify itself; it just needs to stay on shelves.
