Cadillac's Curated ESCALADE IQ Brings Bespoke Color and Hand-Built Craft to Its Electric Flagship for $54,995 Over Base

Cadillac is betting that its electric flagship buyers want something the standard order sheet cannot give them. The brand just launched Curated by Cadillac ESCALADE IQ, a concierge-led personalization program for the 2027 model year that puts a dedicated designer and more than 160 exterior colors between the client and the assembly line. The package costs $54,995 on top of the base ESCALADE IQ price, and it is deliberately scarce.

The program builds directly from the CELESTIQ playbook. Cadillac’s ultra-luxury hand-built sedan established the Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan as the brand’s customization hub; that same facility will produce every Curated ESCALADE IQ for model year 2027. Each vehicle gets a unique VIN, a serialized builder’s badge, and hand-painting to Cadillac’s elevated appearance standards. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2027, and the vehicle will be available in both the U.S. and Canada.

What $54,995 Actually Buys

The exterior palette runs to more than 160 premium colors and finishes, spanning solids, metallics, tri-coats, frosts, and mattes. Inside, clients choose from an expanded palette of up to 44 colors, applied independently across all three rows of seating, the center console, and floor mats. Cadillac describes the total available combinations in the millions, which is the kind of number that’s more marketing than mathematics, but the underlying point is real: a Curated ESCALADE IQ can be configured in ways that make two consecutive builds look nothing alike.

The process is guided rather than open-ended. A dedicated design concierge works with the buyer and their dealer through inspiration sessions, persona-based consultations, and configurator walkthroughs. Cadillac frames this as keeping personalization intentional, which is a polite way of saying it will steer clients away from combinations that look terrible. The program also carries Cadillac’s standard warranty and quality materials backing, so the bespoke finish doesn’t come with bespoke reliability risk.

The Vehicle Underneath

Strip the customization layer and the 2027 Curated ESCALADE IQ is the same machine that won the 2026 MotorTrend SUV of the Year. Cadillac estimates 465 miles of range on a full charge, a figure based on development testing consistent with SAE J1634 methodology, with EPA certification still to come. With Velocity Max engaged, output reaches 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque, and Cadillac puts 0-60 mph at 4.7 seconds on a closed course. Those are serious numbers for a three-row flagship that seats families and their luggage.

Technology aboard includes a 55-inch Horizon display, measured diagonally, that stretches across the dashboard in a format that has become the ESCALADE IQ’s visual signature. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is standard, backed by a three-year OnStar Super Cruise plan. Vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging is available with compatible GM Energy products, adding practical utility to a vehicle whose purchase price puts it firmly in the emotional-decision category.

The Market It Addresses

The Cadillac Escalade has been the best-selling full-size luxury SUV in the United States for years, growing 16 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2025 to 11,692 deliveries, and adding another 5 percent gain in Q4 2025 with 13,659 units. The IQ variant extends that franchise into battery-electric territory, and in a segment where the Tesla Model X and Rivian R1S are the primary electric alternatives, the Escalade IQ competes on refinement and size rather than price minimalism.

The Curated program sits above that already-premium product, targeting buyers for whom specification-sheet parity with a competitor is less interesting than owning something that nobody else will duplicate. That is the same client profile that sustains the CELESTIQ at its own considerably higher price point, and Cadillac is clearly working to layer a bespoke tier into more of its lineup without requiring CELESTIQ-level capital outlay from every buyer who wants a personalized vehicle.

A concept vehicle built to the Curated specification will be on display at The Quail in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California on August 14, 2026, giving the program its public debut in a setting Cadillac clearly chose with intent. The Quail draws exactly the kind of collector and enthusiast clientele who might find a serialized builder’s badge worth the premium.

At $54,995 over base, the Curated ESCALADE IQ is not a subtle upsell. It is Cadillac asking whether there is a meaningful market between a configured-from-the-menu luxury SUV and a full bespoke commission. Given the Escalade’s consistent sales leadership in its segment, the answer is probably yes. Proving it is the next step.
