The 2026 GR Supra will serve as Official Pace Car for the 20th annual NASA Championships at Sebring International Raceway, September 24–27. It is also, almost certainly, the last time a Supra will lead that field. Toyota has confirmed 2026 as the final model year of the fifth-generation car.
The pace car wears GAZOO Racing red, white and black livery, which is on-message for the send-off context. Sebring is a sharp venue choice for a swan-song moment: the 3.74-mile circuit, built on the runways of a former Army Air Force training base, has been punishing racing hardware since 1950. Bumpy pavement, fast straightaways, and technical corners make it one of the most demanding road courses in North America, and the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race has turned it into a reference point for anyone serious about the sport.
This is the second consecutive year a GR Supra has led the NASA Championship fields, but the context in 2026 is different. The car returning to Sebring this September is the MkV Final Edition variant, or optionally the 3.0 or 3.0 Premium grade, each powered by the same 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six making 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is unchanged from prior years, which is consistent with how Toyota has managed the Supra’s final run: no late-cycle changes, just a trim structure built around the nameplate’s exit.

The sales arc makes the timing worth noting. Through May 2026, 1,667 GR Supras had left showrooms, up 80.6% from the 923 units sold through May 2025. That reversal follows years of decline from the nameplate’s 2021 peak of 6,830 units, a slide that ran through 4,952 in 2022 and 2,652 in 2023. Final-year buying and collector interest tend to drive that pattern, and the Supra is running that script. Toyota has not announced what, if anything, follows the fifth-generation car.
The NASA partnership carries a practical dimension beyond the pace car ceremonies. Every new GR sports car buyer receives a complimentary one-year NASA membership and a free High Performance Driving Event track day. Toyota introduced the benefit in 2019 for GR Supra owners specifically, then extended it to all GR sports car purchases. The program has put thousands of buyers on actual track days, which is a more direct form of motorsports engagement than branded merchandise or display partnerships.

Drivers representing 15 NASA regions will compete across multiple racing classes throughout the four-day event, with championship finales on Sunday, September 27. Fans unable to make it to Sebring can watch via the NASA livestream at DriveNASA.com.
The Supra finishes its run on an appropriate note. Whatever replaces it in the GR lineup will have to earn its own Sebring moment.
