
Dodge has a sales problem with the new Charger, and the 2027 Super Bee Launch Edition is its loudest possible answer to it. In Q1 2026, Dodge moved just 1,672 gas-powered Chargers across all configurations. That is not the number a brand expecting performance-car credibility wants to talk about. So instead, Dodge is talking about 600 horsepower, a 3.6-second 0-60 sprint, and the return of one of its most mythology-soaked badges.
The Super Bee nameplate debuted in 1968 on the Coronet, migrated to the Charger in 1971, and most recently appeared as a 2023 limited-edition capper to the V8 era, rated at 485 hp. That version now serves as the yardstick. The 2027 car improves on that car’s 4.5-second 0-60 by nearly a full second, trims six-tenths off the quarter-mile to reach 11.8 seconds, and adds 115 hp. Dodge calls it the most powerful Super Bee ever, and by its own scorecard, that claim holds.
The Engine: 200 HP Per Liter
At the core is a Super Bee-exclusive version of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK inline-six, producing 600 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. The key hardware change from the Scat Pack’s SIXPACK H.O. is a pair of larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers delivering over 30 psi of boost. Peak torque arrives 11.8% earlier, at 3,000 rpm, and holds through 5,900 rpm. The bigger turbos push 7.5% more airflow through the engine and spool harder than the Scat Pack unit. Dodge claims 200 hp per liter of displacement, framing the Super Bee as the most power-dense muscle car ever built.
Supporting the power increase, Dodge strengthened the half-shafts by nearly 10% for track-duty durability. Revised intake system, charge-air path, and intercooler ducting include a charge air cooler duct thermal wrap. Engine calibration is exclusive to the Super Bee, sharpening throttle response, accelerating boost buildup, and refining Launch Control operation. Torque Reserve, which builds boost before launch by delaying ignition timing while holding the brake, returns from the previous generation in adapted form for the SIXPACK architecture, reducing turbo lag off the line.

New for the SIXPACK Charger lineup are Track Mode and Drag Mode. Track Mode firms up the dampers, tightens steering calibration, raises shift points, and applies dedicated traction and stability control tuning. Drag Mode specializes in straight-line launches, reducing front rebound force and increasing rear compression to maximize weight transfer. A dedicated RWD button on the steering wheel allows on-the-fly switching from AWD to 100% rear-wheel-drive mode at any speed, unlocking a more predictable platform for corner-exit slides or old-fashioned tire punishment.
Cooling and Aero: 50% More Capacity
Getting 600 hp from a 3.0-liter engine creates heat, and Dodge spent serious engineering effort on managing it. The Super Bee’s high-temperature radiator circuit gains more than 50% additional cooling capacity over the Scat Pack; the low-temperature circuit more than doubles. Auxiliary radiators are integrated into the outboard corners of the new front fascia. A redesigned high-flow fascia increases airflow to the main stack by 30% while adding over 100 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. Dedicated brake-cooling ducts and auxiliary cooling channels feed critical components throughout a track session. Race Prep, new to the SIXPACK lineup, keeps the electric cooling fan running after engine shutdown to evacuate heat between drag runs.

The aerodynamic work extends beyond cooling. The track-tuned front splitter is one-third longer than the Scat Pack’s unit. A larger rear spoiler works in tandem with the splitter to improve high-speed stability and balance. These are functional surfaces developed alongside cooling requirements, not styling gestures bolted on at the end of the program.
Brakes, Suspension, Wheels
For the first time on a SIXPACK Charger, the Super Bee runs 16-inch Brembo vented rotors at all four corners, clamped by six-piston front and four-piston rear fixed calipers. Dodge claims three times more brake fade resistance than any other SIXPACK Charger and double the fade resistance of the previous-generation SRT Charger, attributing the gain to 27% more brake pad surface area. Hyper Lime calipers with black SRT by Brembo lettering leave no ambiguity about the hardware underneath.
The suspension is equally worked over. New Continuous Damping Control dual-valve adaptive dampers sample and adjust every 10 milliseconds. Front tension-link bushing stiffness increases by 25%; front handling-link bushing stiffness jumps 50% to reduce understeer. Front spring rates climb 12%, rear rates 6%. The rear stabilizer bar is 20% stiffer. Rebound springs inside the dampers keep the tires planted and eliminate float under load. The system predicts lateral acceleration and proactively loads the appropriate corner before the driver feels the need for it.

All four corners wear 20-by-11-inch forged wheels carrying Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 305/35ZR20 tires. The wheels are unique to the Super Bee and finished in gloss black. The 305-section footprint is wide enough to matter: more contact patch means more traction on launch and more grip in corners, and the tire compound was developed specifically for this application.
Inside and Out
The Launch Edition arrives in three colors: new Sucker Punch (a vibrant yellow-green), new Shady (a dark, tone-on-tone gray), and Diamond Black. Each carries its own graphic treatment. Sucker Punch pairs with gloss-black bodyside Stinger graphics and a gloss-black hood patch. Diamond Black gets Sucker Punch accents on the rear spoiler, rear fascia, and bodyside stripes. Shady pairs the gray paint with gloss-black graphics for a more restrained, menacing look. The reimagined Super Bee logo, inspired by a turbocharger spool, appears on the grille badge and throughout the exterior and interior.

Inside, the Launch Edition introduces the first cloth high-back performance seats on the modern Charger, featuring embroidered Super Bee logos on the headrests, Citrus Peel tilt-pattern inserts, and Silver and Sour Lemon contrast stitching. A new leather performance steering wheel carries the dedicated RWD button, larger paddle shifters, and a Citrus Peel 12 o’clock marker. Dual-contrast stitching in Silver and Sour Lemon runs through the instrument panel, door panels, and shifter boot.
New to the SIXPACK Charger is the Drive Experience Recorder (DxR) by Cosworth, standard on the Super Bee Launch Edition. A forward-facing 1080p camera captures 60-fps video synchronized with vehicle telemetry and audio. Recordings export to the AliveDrive app on iOS and Android for post-session analysis, lap comparison, and driver input review. It is the kind of tool that turns a track day into homework.
The Super Bee Launch Edition will be built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario. Pricing, ordering, and availability will be announced later this year.
Dodge is betting that a 600 hp nameplate revival can do what 550 hp hasn’t: make people notice the new Charger again. The engineering case is real. Whether 1,672 quarterly sales becomes a number worth forgetting depends entirely on how many buyers are waiting for exactly this.
