Suzuki Motor USA (SMO) has proudly announced the production of its 500,000th All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) at the Suzuki Manufacturing of America Corporation (SMAC) facility in Rome, Georgia. This significant milestone marks a major achievement for the company, which began assembling ATVs at this dedicated plant 22 years ago.
A Milestone 22 Years in the Making –
Since its opening in 2002, the SMAC facility has been the heart of Suzuki’s ATV manufacturing in the United States. Before this, Suzuki’s adult-sized ATVs were produced in Japan. The 500,000th ATV to roll off the assembly line in Rome is the KingQuad 750AXi, Suzuki’s flagship model known for its power and reliability.
Masami Haga, President of SMO and SMAC, expressed pride in this accomplishment. “We’re proud of this achievement and the significance of having built a half million ATVs in the United States,” Haga said. “North America represents the largest ATV market in the world, and it’s important that these products are built here by skilled American workers.” He also highlighted the role of U.S.-based suppliers in providing components essential to Suzuki’s ATVs.
Leading the ATV Market for Over Four Decades –
Suzuki has been a pioneer in the ATV market since it introduced the first four-wheel ATV in 1982. Over the past four decades, the company has maintained its leadership by continuously innovating and producing high-quality, durable vehicles. Suzuki ATVs are sold through a network of over 700 franchised dealers across the United States and are distributed in nearly 25 countries worldwide.
Versatile and Reliable –
All-Terrain Vehicles have a wide range of uses, from recreational trail riding and hunting to agricultural work and light construction. Suzuki ATVs are especially valued for their reliability and durability, making them a trusted choice for various outdoor and industrial activities. The company remains committed to delivering top-notch ATVs that meet the needs of their customers.
Celebrating a Historic Achievement –
To commemorate this milestone, Suzuki plans to display the 500,000th ATV at its SMAC headquarters. This KingQuad 750AXi will stand as a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of the Suzuki team in the United States.
Suzuki’s U.S. sales and distribution headquarters are located in Brea, California, while SMAC operates as a subsidiary of SMO. This achievement underscores Suzuki’s commitment to excellence in manufacturing and engineering, reinforcing its position as a leader in the ATV industry.
