Taking cues from the acclaimed F-150 Lightning, this EV demonstrator is a collaborative effort between Ford Performance Motorsports and STARD. Its aerodynamic design has been meticulously honed to generate an impressive 6,000 lbs of downforce at speeds of up to 150 mph, a crucial element for conquering the rugged terrain of Pikes Peak.
Beyond its prowess on the track, the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is at the forefront of electric powertrain research and development. Insights gleaned from its performance at Pikes Peak will not only refine software calibration and battery cell chemistry for future production vehicles but also shape Ford’s upcoming race programs.
