Earlier this week, Subaru announced pricing for the 2027 Ascent, which arrives at dealers this summer with starting MSRPs running $40,795 for the Premium, $47,985 for the Limited, $49,095 for the Limited Bronze Edition, $51,165 for the Touring, and $51,995 for the Onyx Edition Touring. All five trims are available in seven-passenger configurations; Premium and Limited also offer an eight-passenger layout.
The updates for the new model year are incremental. Subaru added USB-C charging ports alongside the existing USB-A outlets, locating the new ports on the right rear quarter trim near the third row with protective covers. An interior light off switch now allows drivers to disable door-activated lighting with a single touch, which Subaru frames as a convenience for parents shuttling sleeping children. The Ascent also adds Deepwater Blue Pearl to the exterior color palette as an Ascent-exclusive finish.
The powertrain carries over unchanged: a 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four making 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT that offers an eight-speed manual mode and paddle shifters. Symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. Towing capacity remains rated at 5,000 pounds.
Subaru sold 44,400 Ascents in 2025, down from the 82,000 units the model moved in 2019, its first full year on the market. The Ascent competes with the Toyota Grand Highlander, Kia Telluride, and Honda Pilot in the three-row midsize SUV segment, where it replaced the discontinued Tribeca after the 2014 model year.
The Premium trim, at $40,795, includes 19 cupholders, heated front seats in black StarTex upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and an 11.6-inch Subaru Multimedia Plus touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual-zone front climate control with automatic rear climate control is standard, along with an LED rear gate lamp, keyless access, and push-button start. The Premium rides on black-finish 18-inch alloy wheels.

Limited trim, starting at $47,985, adds heated second-row outboard seats, a 12-way power driver’s seat with memory, a four-way power front passenger seat, and rear-seat sunshades. Exterior upgrades include 20-inch dark gray alloy wheels with machine finish, chrome lower door cladding, and power-folding side mirrors with memory. Tech upgrades include a Harman Kardon speaker system, integrated navigation, a surround-view monitor, and Cabin Connect, which projects the driver’s voice to rear passengers.
The Limited Bronze Edition, priced at $49,095, layers bronze-finish 20-inch alloy wheels, bronze front grille accents, and bronze lower body cladding over the seven-passenger Limited. Inside, black StarTex upholstery with bronze stitching is paired with a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel featuring bronze stitching and a bronze center spoke insert.
Touring trim, at $51,165, moves to perforated Nappa leather seating, a high-grade leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dark woodgrain trim on the front center console. Ambient interior and footwell lighting are included, along with ventilated front seats, a smart rearview mirror with auto-dimming, and a 120-volt power outlet in the cargo area. Exterior chrome accents include door handles and a chrome-finish front intake cover. The Touring is offered exclusively in a seven-passenger configuration with second-row captain’s chairs.
The Onyx Edition Touring, at $51,995, adds black exterior styling over the Touring base: 20-inch black-finish alloy wheels, black window molding, a gloss-black grille, and Crystal Black Silica accents on the wing and roof spoiler. Inside, gloss-black accents and green contrast stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel give the cabin a sportier appearance. Like the Touring, the Onyx Edition is seven-passenger only.
Every 2027 Ascent includes EyeSight driver assist technology with a wide-angle mono camera and emergency stop assist, along with blind-spot detection with lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, and automatic emergency steering. DriverFocus distraction mitigation is standard on Limited, Limited Bronze Edition, Touring, and Onyx Edition Touring trims. The Ascent earned a 2026 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and has received IIHS Top Safety Pick recognition for nine consecutive years.
The 2027 Ascent is available in Autumn Green Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Dark Mahogany Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, and newly available Daybreak Blue Pearl and Deepwater Blue Pearl. Premium colors carry a $395 upcharge. Destination is $1,495, rising to $1,645 in Alaska and varying in Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
