Dodge is expanding the 2027 Durango’s color menu again. Hot on the heels of Redeye, After Dark is the brand’s second new exterior finish for the HEMI-powered three-row SUV this year, bringing the available palette to nine choices and adding yet another variable to what is already a deeply configurable product.
After Dark is a deep metallic blue with a behavior that shifts depending on ambient light. In direct sunlight, metallic flakes push through and give the finish a shimmering quality; once the sun goes down, that same base reads as almost black, which suits Dodge’s aggressive visual identity well. It is available across the full HEMI lineup and carries a U.S. MSRP of $595.
The nine available exterior colors on the 2027 Durango now stand as: After Dark, Redeye, B5 Blue, Destroyer Grey, Green Machine, Night Moves, Pitch Black, Red Oxide, and White Knuckle. For buyers configuring a Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, After Dark is one more variable layered onto an already sprawling options matrix. Dodge puts the total Jailbreak build combinations beyond 16 million when After Dark is factored in alongside available stripe packages, wheel choices, interior appointments, and performance details.
The four trim lines receiving the color represent a wide spread of performance. The GT HEMI AWD, which Dodge positions as the most affordable AWD V-8 vehicle in the industry, produces 360 hp from a 5.7-liter HEMI. The R/T 392 steps up to 475 hp and carries Dodge’s claim of delivering the most horsepower per dollar for a gas SUV. At the top, the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Jailbreak run the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI at 710 hp, which Dodge calls the most powerful gas SUV ever built.
The color addition fits a broader pattern Dodge has been running through the 2027 model year. At Roadkill Nights, the brand introduced tinted dual stripes and unwrapped the Sucker Punch and Shady exterior finishes for the 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition. Red Oxide and Purple Haze arrived for the Charger lineup earlier in the summer. Dodge appears to be treating the customization story as a selling point in itself, particularly for a Durango that sits in a competitive three-row segment where most rivals are built around fuel economy and family practicality rather than performance credentials.
The Durango’s commercial standing makes the continued investment in personalization options credible rather than cosmetic. The model moved over 81,000 units in 2025, a 37 percent increase over 2024, and accounted for nearly 80 percent of Dodge brand sales volume for the year. Against a backdrop of freshly redesigned competitors like the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, both of which saw declining volume in early 2026, the Durango’s sales trajectory suggests buyers are responding to what the vehicle is, not just what it costs. A next-generation Durango is expected around 2029, so Dodge is keeping the current platform commercially relevant with options and color additions rather than engineering changes.
After Dark is open for orders now. At $595, it is the cheapest way to change a Durango’s character depending on the time of day.
