Dodge Opens Orders for Smokescreen Paint and Petrol Blue Seats on the 2027 Durango

Dodge showed Smokescreen at Roadkill Nights in August as a concept color on the Durango R/T 392. Today, it’s an order option. The cool light grey joins the 2027 Durango’s exterior palette at $595 and is available across every HEMI-powered trim in the lineup.

Smokescreen is the third new exterior color Dodge has added to the Durango in the past three months, bringing the total palette to 10 options: After Dark, Redeye, B5 Blue, Destroyer Grey, Green Machine, Night Moves, Pitch Black, Red Oxide, White Knuckle, and now Smokescreen. Dodge positions it as a lighter-shade alternative to Destroyer Grey, a controlled backdrop that plays against the Durango’s wide-body proportions without trying to hide them.

The color is available on the full HEMI-powered Durango range: the 360 hp 5.7-liter GT AWD, the 475 hp R/T 392, and both the standard 710 hp SRT Hellcat and the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak. That covers a price spread from the GT HEMI on up, so buyers at any point in the lineup can order it.

The second new option is more exclusive. Petrol Blue Laguna leather performance seats are offered exclusively on the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak at $2,995. The seats pair the blue leather with dual silver stitching and embossed SRT Hellcat logos, and they’re configured in a six-passenger layout with second-row captain’s chairs and a full center console standard to the Hellcat. Inside a 710 hp three-row SUV, the color contrast is either exactly right or exactly wrong depending on your taste, but Dodge is clearly betting on the former given the Roadkill Nights crowd response McAlear described.

Adding the Petrol Blue seats brings the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak’s customization combination count to more than 20 million, according to Dodge, spanning colors, stripes, wheels, brake calipers, badging, and interior appointments. That figure keeps growing with each new option introduced, which appears to be the deliberate cadence Dodge is running with the Jailbreak model specifically.

Dodge has not announced on-sale timing beyond orders opening today. Given that the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee sold its initial allocation within 90 minutes of opening orders last week, Stellantis clearly has appetite for rapid-order enthusiasm on limited-run and special-option releases across its performance brands. Whether Smokescreen moves at the same pace across an entire lineup rather than a single trim is a different question, but $595 is a low enough ask that it’s unlikely to be the deciding factor for a buyer already committed to a Durango HEMI.
