Chevrolet has just released a tantalizing teaser video of the upcoming 2025 Corvette ZR1 (C8) across its social media channels, giving enthusiasts their first listen to its rumored twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
For the past year, rumors have been circulating about a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 V8 being developed at General Motors’ Milford Proving Ground in Michigan. Various sources suggest that the new ZR1 could produce an astonishing 850 horsepower and 850 lb.-ft. of torque. This would mark a significant improvement over the previous generation ZR1, which delivered 755 horsepower and 715 lb.-ft. of torque from a larger supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8.
In the teaser video, viewers catch a brief glimpse of the C8 ZR1 as it zooms past the camera. A quick screenshot reveals the rear of the car, featuring a tall rear wing similar to what was seen in spy photos taken at the Nürburgring last fall. This substantial rear wing is rumored to be part of a new enhanced aerodynamics package, which is expected to include carbon fiber canards, larger side air intakes for improved engine cooling, and an air extractor integrated into the front hood.
The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to officially debut this summer, promising to deliver an exhilarating blend of power and advanced aerodynamics. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
