Ford Teases Ranger Raptor North Edition Concept

Collaborates with Kris Kringle on an "Everyday Sleigh"...

Ford Motor Company has revealed concept sketches of a new one-of-a-kind vehicle: the Ranger Raptor North Edition. While it is unlikely to see production, the truck marks a unique collaboration between Ford Design in Australia and Kris Kringle, the world-renowned gift-giver.

This bespoke pickup was designed for Kringle’s everyday use, aimed to be both practical and festive. While Kringle’s sleigh and reindeer remain a staple of his operations, the Ranger Raptor offers the all-terrain ability needed for his year-round adventures. Features include heated hot chocolate holders, a tailgate barbecue, and an infinity load box designed to carry presents for over 800 million children.

Ford’s design team, led by Kirby Masterman, worked closely with the Experimental Laboratory Foundation (ELF) to bring the concept to life in just 10 weeks. The project required innovative engineering, including a re-engineered flight system based on the Levacar Mach 1 concept. This system enables the Ranger Raptor North Edition to take flight, powered by candy-cane-fueled rocket engines, and travel at speeds close to the speed of light.

Key features of the truck include a roof access port for Kringle’s preferred chimney entry, an integrated gingerbread-crumb SYNC® infotainment system, and an enhanced F-O-R-D grille made from Unobtanium for durability at high speeds.

While the Ranger Raptor North Edition concept is unlikely to go beyond sketches, the project reflects Ford’s playful spirit and innovative engineering. It’s a fun, imaginative take on an iconic figure’s transportation needs.
