Ram reopened orders today for the 1500 TRX, the supercharged off-road truck that sat out the past two model years. The 2027 starts at $99,995 in the US and $144,995 in Canada, both before destination ($2,795 in the States). Trucks reach dealerships this summer. The 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 makes 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque.

The TRX was discontinued after 2024 over emissions compliance. The original truck made 702 horsepower across its 2021-2024 run. Ford’s Raptor R answered with 720 hp at debut, an 18-hp margin over the outgoing TRX. The new TRX closes that gap and opens another: 777 hp against 720, 680 lb-ft against 640.

Ram frames the return in cost-per-horsepower terms, calling the TRX the highest horsepower-per-dollar ratio of any premium full-size off-road truck. The math works. Whether buyers prioritize that ratio over a two-year absence is the open question.

0-60 mph takes 3.5 seconds with Launch Control; top speed is 118 mph. Off pavement, the truck rides on 35-inch tires with Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, Ram Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management, 11.8 inches of ground clearance, and up to 14 inches of rear axle travel. Full-time four-wheel drive is standard.

Inside, 12-way power front seats heat, ventilate, and massage. The rear seats recline, heat, and ventilate too — a feature Ram calls class-exclusive. Leather and suede surfaces carry red accent stitching that matches the seat belts. Real carbon fiber with recessed TRX badging runs across the cabin. A 900-watt Harman Kardon system feeds 19 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer. A 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a configurable head-up display with a 10-inch field of view handle the displays. Dual wireless charging pads and a 360-degree camera are standard.

Hands-Free Active Drive Assist comes standard. Ram calls the TRX and stablemate RHO the only high-performance off-road gas pickups offering hands-free driving.

Options include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a bed-mounted tire carrier, and off-road running boards. Ram offers seven exterior colors at launch. Standalone options add 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels and TRX hood and bedside graphics.

The $9,995 Bloodshot Night Edition adds a hand-painted Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat upper with a Flame Red center stripe and bodyside splash graphics that integrate with the TRX bedside treatment. Inside, the package brings red-outline TRX badging, a glass-encased TRX center console badge, and carbon fiber with red anodized thread woven through. The wheels finish in Satin Black with Satin Titanium beadlock rings.

Ram has recent form for pent-up demand. When the 5.7-liter HEMI returned to the 1500 in June 2025, more than 10,000 orders came in within 24 hours. The TRX occupies a narrower slice of the market, but the two-year gap and the 75-hp gain over the outgoing truck suggest the order bank fills quickly.

The Raptor R has had two years to enjoy being the heavyweight. That window just closed.
