GM Recalls Certain 2023 Colorado / Canyon Models For Hub Bolts

Front Wheel Hub Bolts Could Have Been Overtightened, Lead To Them Coming Loose...

2023 GMC Canyon AT4 . (GMC).

General Motors (GM) has issued a recall for approximately 17 units of its 2023 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks due to a potential safety concern with the front wheel hub bolts. The recall stems from the possibility of these bolts being over-tightened during installation, which could lead to damage and subsequent loosening over time.

The defect identified in these vehicles relates to motor vehicle safety, as the over-torqued front wheel hub bolts may become deformed and eventually loosen during operation. If a bolt breaks while the vehicle is in motion, it could exert excessive stress on the remaining bolts, resulting in partial loss of vehicle control and increasing the crash risk.
